Why Elopements Might Be the Best Wedding Decision You'll Ever Make

Let’s be real - big weddings aren’t for everyone. And if the thought of seating charts, strict timelines, and being the center of attention in front of 150 people makes you want to run for the hills... maybe you should.
(Preferably hand-in-hand with your person and a killer view.)
We’re big fans of elopements around here. In fact, Alex and I eloped back in 2003! It was simple, stress-free, and totally us, and to this day, it’s still one of our favorite decisions. So trust us when we say: you don’t need a huge wedding to have a beautiful, unforgettable start to your marriage.
Here’s what we love most about elopements:
🌿 They’re peaceful – No chaotic timelines, no endless to-do lists, no one asking where the guestbook is. Just you two, present in the moment.
📍 You can go anywhere – Say “I do” under towering trees, next to the water (or IN it!), in a cozy garden, or wherever feels right.
📷 More time for meaningful photos – With fewer distractions, we get to capture more of those real, emotional, candid moments.
💛 It’s all about the love – Elopements strip away the noise and keep the focus right where it belongs: on your connection and your commitment.
And just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s any less special. If anything, it’s more intentional, more emotional, and honestly? more fun.
If this sounds like your kind of celebration, we created something just for couples like you:
The Elopement Experience – a one-hour weekday package that includes a personalized ceremony from the incredible officiant Alexis at Rain & Vows NW, full photo coverage with me (Rebecca), and help finding the perfect location.
It’s sweet, simple, and full of heart - just like your day should be.
